Citroen SM; Creative Technology Of The 70's

'Creative Technology'

Citroen SM made its first debut in March 1970 in Geneva Auto Show and went into the market in September 1970. The debut of this sports Citroen was the result after Citroen bought Maserati in 1968 and combine the signature hydro pneumatic suspension with Maserati's high performance engine in building a true Grand Tourismo car. There are no specific acronym with the terms SM but often presumed as Sports Maserati which this car is being developed and engineered by Citroen and powered by Maserati powerful V6 engine.

This Citroen was the flagship model as it compete in its time with other grand tourismo car makers like Jaguar, Lotus, Aston Martin, Alfa Romeo and Porsche.
